5 Ways To Stop Being Insecure

#1 Don't compare your life and appearance to others.

We live in a really strange world where we tend to use social media to show other people our value. I encourage you to live wiser than that and be aware that it's just the side of their lives, bodies, partners and achievements that they want you to see. Actually, very few people show struggles and imperfections. Unfortunately, it will never change. People will always look for validation that they can't give themselves. All you can do about it it's just stay away from places where we feel less discouraged and worse because it's a trap. It's your role to free yourself. Someone can guide you, but you need to set your mindset.

#2 Realize what "better" truly means.

How many times have you looked at a couple where one partner, in your opinion, was way better-looking and you couldn't understand how it works?
That's because you based only on an outside appearance. Once I heard this amazing quote "Sometimes better is not higher. Sometimes better is deeper." and it hit me. Don't give me wrong I'm not saying that our appearance is not important. I'm saying that we shouldn't base our worth on something so unstable and dig deeper int our soul and mind. You can be sure that 70% of our society chooses this quick form of validation, but if you want to become truly beautiful, you have to count on a different definition of "better".

#3 You have thoughts. Don't let thoughts have you.

Sometimes thoughts come out of nowhere. I think we all recognize this nagging feeling that makes us overthink. This little voice in our head that get us find doubts even in the positive moments. So what happens when we don't control these thoughts?
We lose control over our emotions and this is a moment when we are unstable. When it lasts long enough, our body starts to react and set our negative mindset. That's why we need to teach ourselves to stop this vicious circle and disconnect from our own thoughts. Breathing practice and meditation may be really helpful in such a case.
So when this thought "I'm Not Enough" appears, make it shut up.

#4 Don't chase an outside validation.

Sometimes when I look at our society nowadays, I feel like most of our time we live for others. We live to achieve a certain status, get others to admire us, and show everything that we can offer to the world. I'm really sorry to tell this, but we are instantly trying to get the prize that doesn't even exist. Believe me, as quickly as it was given to you, it can be taken back. That's why we always feel not enough. That's why we get into relationships with people who treat us like toys, but we are not toys. We are humans and we don't have to sacrifice ourselves painfully to feel that we deserve something.
In order to attract people who are worth your beautiful soul, it is to feel it from inside of you. The feeling that you don't have to beg for attention and give yourself away to get the prize in the form of a quick validation. You are the beautiful individual to explore, not a thing to look at.

#5 Work on your own development.

I think that one of the greatest feelings is being proud of yourself. I strongly believe that we should try to challenge ourselves, regardless. Don't chase perfection. It's never benefited anybody, but when you take care of yourself and you know how much effort you put into a process, you don't sell yourself cheap. This also refers to your surrounding. You teach other people how to treat you by showing them how you treat yourself.
You may be afraid of going out of your comfort zone, but it's the only way to change something in your life. I'm not talking only about starting working out and drinking more water but also about changing you mindset,, the way you behave, and bettering or gaining new skills.
